I'd seen a builder burning roof timbers and it seemed a dreadful waste. I made up my mind to produce a sculpture from recycled timber.
At the same time some dear friends rescued a beautiful Shire Mare, I knew straight away she was it. Agnes is held together with over 1000 handmade dowels, and carved with a chainsaw, her hooves which are enormous wear the original shoes and her tail, withers and mane are made from bleached twine.
Agnes has become something of a star in the collection of Dorset County Hospital and seems to bring great joy to the people there.
